Christmas

I had a rather hectic few weeks before Christmas (I'm sure I'm not the only one!) and so have taken some time off over Christmas and feel like today is the day I will start to do things again.
Taking time off over Christmas was lovely, I got given some really nice presents and had some really nice food and we went to stay at mum and dad's on Boxing Day which was really relaxing.

I no longer work at the cinema! I am now just self employed. Scary but in a motivating kind of way. Realistically I know that I will almost definitely need part time jobs here and there in the not to distant future but that job just wasn't working with my art so I needed to get out of it to concentrate on my art and properly get started on it.

I'm really looking forward to finally getting my illustration work out there and putting even more effort into the shop too.

New year new start and all that, only a few days now!

Mum's Birthday

My mum's adopted giraffe (her gift from my brother).

For her birthday my mum wanted to go to the zoo.
You might think that the zoo in December is a silly idea but you'd be wrong. I think it was the best zoo day I've ever had. We got to see quite a few animals that we never normally get to see, there were practically no people about and some of the animals were not only visible but being amazing.
A chimp came straight over to mum and just sat there looking at her for a while, the lions were in a massive sleepy pile on the other side of the glass, a sloth bear came over to us and tried sucking us up with his tubey termite eating mouth through the glass, the wolves were all lounging around on the close side of their enclosure, we saw the wolverines really close, there was a tiny little baby elephant that was only born in april and another not quite as little but still little elephant that was born last year and loads of other animaly goodness. It was an awesome day.

Website

I am in the midst of playing with my website again.
A few weeks and it'll hopefully be just how I'd like it.

And then the playing with self promotion starts.
I'm rather looking forward to making little packages of illustration and sending them out :)

Charlie

You might not be able to tell but Charlie is a white dog. He is also a bit naughty and has got himself all covered in mud, hence being in the bath.
He's not really too pleased that his hard afternoons work is about to get washed away but I'm sure he'll have fun putting it right again.
