December so far

I started the month making a zine from last months drawings as I have done for quite a while now. Only one more time though, then I'm done with that project ^_^ I also won some x-files magazines on ebay (I'm going to make badges out of them) and drew a lot of Scullys and Mulders in my sketchbook.






Mum and Dad came to visit and I had my first ever green tea latte, I approve, it's a good time and we went out to see the Christmas lights.



My Grandad died earlier this year and we'd lost my Nan a couple of years before so it was time for my mum and her sisters to sell the house which meant no more apples from their apple trees. I remember every year nan would sit and peel, chop and freeze bags of apples for everyone and we'd make crumbles and cakes from them. We also used to hook the hose pipe in the trees and run around under it in the summer. Mum took some apples from the garden one last time and I asked her to freeze me a slice of the cake so I could have my last apples too.

Will met a dinosaur and I got myself some pink eyeliner. A successful day.




I got these shirts finished at last but haven't been able to take any good photos of them yet so they aren't in my shop which is super annoying. Winter is difficult. (and so is photography)

Our decorations finally went up on Monday, exactly a week before christmas. I don't like them to be up for too long before hand because they just start to blend in and I don't really see them and feel like it's fancy and special anymore but if we'd left it any later you don't feel like it's christmas yet and kind of miss the whole thing. Luckily Will found time to shimmy up into the loft before we became complete Scrooges.



When mum and dad were here they bought us a poinsettia which I love, they're so pretty and having plants around is a good thing, but I don't know how to stop it from dropping leaves and I hope it isn't bald before the end of the year.

I hope you're feeling less neglected now blog, I have 5 more vlogmas days to do and then I'm sure everything will level out again. The appeal of doing vlogmas is so weird, it's not like it gets me anything except less time...and videos to watch in a few years to remember what I was like now. Oh how I love to document my life (* ^ ω ^)

Doing vlogmas

Hello blog. I have been neglecting you because I've been having a go at vlogmas and there are only so many things I can edit and update in a day :)
I still have a weird relationship with making videos. I don't think they're very interesting and the idea of people looking at them makes me cringe and yet I keep making them and sharing them. I can't explain it but it is what it is.

Here are a few of my vlogmas videos so far. I'm managing it everyday so if you like you can go to my youtube and see the others, hopefully there will be 8 more before christmas too. That actually sounds like a lot of videos still to make, how am I managing this?!

Christmas designs for redbubble

My mum asked me to design some Christmas cards for her and I thought I'd add them to my redbubble as well. What made me think to do it was that I thought they'd make good stickers. Redbubble often has deals on buying multiple stickers and I think the pudding, tree and sprout especially would look really cute as die cut stickers on presents or cards or something (sorry pom poms and fairy lights, I'm sure you'd be a cute sticker too). I ended up putting the designs on most of the available products though and they make for some pretty cute shirts and mugs too (if I do say so myself ^_^)

It always feels weird posting Christmas stuff in November (I very much try to ignore Christmas until at least the start of December) but if you're getting things made and posted you sometimes need to start a little early, what can ya do *shrugs*

I got a surface pro ~ weekly vlog

I have been sharing a computer with Will for the past 10 years and while it wasn't that bad it wasn't ideal and it also wasn't in the room where I work and basically I wanted a laptop but couldn't get one and then I could get one and now I've got one and it's magical ^_^

Sometimes you just have to take screenshots of a kpop video and put them on your blog. I saw this video for the first time last night and I love it. The look of the drawing is really cool, the colours are so bright and good, her heavily auto-tuned voice sounds awesome and there's a good message in there too. I only need you, but money would be nice also. It's very relatable I feel. I also like how it's two sided, they both want to provide for the other. I like it a lot.

Also, this is my first blog post using my new surface pro. I talk about it in my vlog this week (which will be posted soon) so I won't go over it again here but it's making me feel really productive and I'm finding it super useful. I haven't bought a keyboard yet though and this one keeps changing my words and I feel like the formatting of this post might be a bit off but that's ok. I'm sure I'll get used to it ^_^

Here's the video, it has English subtitles which is a nice bonus. I highly recommend it, it cheers me right up :)

Crochet sale!

Through November all the crochet items in my Etsy shop have 30% off! In the new year I'm going to be concentrating on illustrated pieces and I'd love to move these crochet items on to new homes (and out of my studio!).
I chose November for the sale so people outside the UK should have plenty of arrival time for Christmas. On December 1st the sale ends and I'll be letting the listings for these items expire in the new year so this is official last chance warning. Crochet ended up being work by accident which might sound weird but it's true and I've been thinking a lot this year about what I really want to be doing and I've been kind of fazing out crochet but it's time to properly put an end to these pieces. I'm sure I'll use crochet at some point in the future for things that count as work but I want it to be a hobby again because it turned into a chore that I didn't look forward to which is dumb because crochet can be relaxing and also really creative and clever.
So grab yourself a bargain and also help me out with clearing space and buying food ^_^
