Roberto Ferri

There aren't really any words to describe just how instantly I fell in love with this guy about 20 mins ago. I just had to share it. I was looking at Neil Gaiman's tumblr and there he was, Roberto Ferri. I'm sad I only just found out he exists, I'm so glad I now know he exists.
I urge you to go to his website and look through the gallery.
I'm in love.

By the way, when do you think these were painted? You're probably way off.

"Roberto Ferri was born in Taranto in 1978. In 1996, he graduated from the Art High School "Lysippus' of Taranto."
- copied and google translated from his website.

Even more wow.

Split Cam Part 1

Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled UntitledUntitled

This is the last time I abandon a film for so long before finishing it! (Except for the disposable I've got laying around that I started in January...)
These photos are from my birthday, 2010. The day I got my split cam. I think that first photo is finally the last photo to be found of Hatfield, exactly a year after we moved.
I thought I'd almost finished this film. I was wrong. I got it out on Wednesday and took a couple of pictures to try and finish it off and the counter was on about 8 so I started worrying that something had gone wrong somewhere because I was so certain that I'd taken more photos than that so I ran around for about 10 minutes taking photos of everything and I got to the end of the film and it turns out there was nothing wrong with it, there was just a lot of film left.

Anyway, here's the first lot of the pictures, taken in London, in 2010.

P.S if you don't know about Split Cam it's basically a toy camera that allows you to take double exposures and also has little slider things that go over the lens so you can take half the photo of one thing and then the other half of something else. That's how Will is on top of some tree, for example.

Knitted Bag Strap

Untitled Untitled

For Christmas my mum and dad got me a really cute little leather bag, it's lovely. The strap wasn't long enough though (I like to have bags across me rather than just hanging off my shoulder) and I finally got around to sorting that out. I knitted a long strip then stitched it onto some heavy fabric to keep it flat. It's not very neat but then, neither am I. The pattern is from a book I borrowed from my nan and grandad about traditional Latvian costume, I think in the book it was an embroidery pattern for a belt so I just drew out a section on some graph paper to knit from.

Around the Studio

Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled

We're lucky enough to live in a 2 bedroom house so one of the bedrooms is our shared studio, these are some photos from it.
My new book. It's perfect.
My desk.
In front of my desk.
Yes, that is a lot of scissors.
And a lot of thread.
An old unfinished picture of Will's.
In front of my desk.
Blue bulbs are the best.
The end of Will's desk.

Above a railway crossing, I wish the weather was more like that today.
A little cup of coffee.

Monday - Banham Zoo

Snow Leopard Giraffe Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled

On Monday we were taken to the zoo by Will's mum and sister. We were lucky enough to not get rained on but we did get jumped on by goats that were mental for the food pellets. They were pretty awesome in their scary goat kind of way. We managed to see pretty much all the animals, we got to stroke a Royal Python (so soft!) and we had a picnic, I love picnics, so all in all it was a good zoo trip. As always, I took a lot of zoo photos, there are more on my flickr if you'd like to see them.
