Films I Watched ~ March

 

This is a bit late but it's done.

There seems to have been a theme during March...

I'd already seen most of these films before March. I liked them all. I would say I liked them all very much but I just liked My Week With Marilyn, it doesn't get the very much.

Snail Buddy

Noticed this guy on our window the other day. Snails are pretty cute till you notice they're pretty gross. This one was om nom noming her way along which I'm sure you'll agree just had to be a gif.

Buttons For Sale

I've come to the somewhat surprising conclusion that I have too many buttons so I've made a listing on Etsy to disperse some. If you're interested in expanding your own selection of buttons I'd appreciate you taking some of mine.
Seriously, I have another tin of my favourites that aren't for sale and then a big glass jar full aswell as the two tins in the photos. While taking the photos for the listing I considered just keeping them all. Help me.

Sketchbook ~ Bunnies, Badger, Bear

 A brand spanking new sketchbook. I'm getting on quite well with it so far. I think writing the date on the page in other books was stopping me from going back to that page on a different day. So I've stopped doing that and am managing to go back to pages to work on them more. If you're lucky you might see some of these pages again in another post. I don't know why but I think having the date on the page made me reluctant to add to the page because then the date wouldn't be when the page happened or something. I dunno, I'm an idiot. Most of the colouring I've done on these pages was done on different days to the drawing though so not writing the date seems to be working so that's something. I've still written a date at the beginning and then I will at the end so I know when the book was being used but not throughout.
Revolutionary.

Facebook Page

I don't like facebook. I deleted my account a while ago because all it was doing was bugging me. But a lot of people do like facebook and the other day I thought I'd just make a page for those folks as a way to keep updated with my work.
Then I found out you need a personal profile to make a page. I pondered this for a while feeling all mneugh about the idea of being manipulated by Zuckerberg into being one of his 'I'm so awesome look how many people use my website' statistics when I'm not actually using it.
In the end I figured promoting my business is probably more important right now than hating on facebook so I made myself a personal page (that I won't be using) so that I could make a business page (that I will be using) to post updates relating to my work. I won't be posting anything on facebook that isn't anywhere else, so if you don't have facebook you won't be missing out, but people that do use facebook now have an easier way to keep up to date with my goings on.

If you are an avid facebook user then please go have a look at and like/share my page. I'll be posting various work related updates on there as and when they happen.

I walk past this building on my way to the shop and I love how it just sticks out above the buildings on either side and then that the buildings on either side aren't even either.

Buildings that don't match are the best and luckily Norwich is full of them.

Maybe I'll make a higgledy piggledy buildings zine.

Lunchtime Exploring

The other day Will made us a picnic and we went and had lunch in the meadow followed by a little wander round before heading home again to carry on with work.

Meet Frank

The current issue (17) of Simply Crochet has one of my designs in it. Frank the sausage dog. I didn't come up with the name, that credit goes to the magazine. I wish I'd thought of it.
Weaving in all those ends nearly killed me but it was worth it, he looks rather dashing. I think in the future I might make some not multicolour versions of him.

Mundesley

On Monday we went to the beach with Will's sister and her dog. It was a bit drizzly but I love the beach so I didn't really care.

Cherokee is a pretty awesome digger. I think if it was up to her she would have just kept digging forever.

Will found a dead crab, completely intact. We have attempted to preserve it. It's currently floating, not sure if that is just what happens to crabs in jars or if it will eventually drop down or if there's some magic method we haven't found out about yet. Either way it's looking wonderfully freakish in it's little jar at the moment.

Sketchbook ~ The End And Not The End

Apparently when I feel like drawing but don't know what to draw I turn to instagram and Wes Anderson.
That's the end of another sketchbook and the last picture is the end of a book in the middle of a book made of books. So not the end of that one. Yes.
Anyway I have a new sketchbook to fill now and I am looking forward to it very much.
I really like having the brown card end pages turn up now and then in the little sketchbook I made, there's something about brown card that is just lovely.

The new Ohh Deer competition is up and running so for a limited time these t-shirts are available. They also come as vests or sweatshirts too.

It'd be very lovely of you if you would go over to the pages and share my entries, all the facebook shares and tweets help get the shirts into the trending area on the shop which is obviously quite the advantage for getting sales and having someone buy one of my designs on a shirt would be pretty awesome.

 

There are lots of other cool designs over there too so check it out anyway.

 

Speaking of other cool designs a certain Will Wilson has also entered the competition.

Duck Hunt

Over the weekend mum and dad came for a visit and amongst other things (including some pretty immense Jenga playing) we went searching for ducks. I didn't think we'd find ducklings yet, or in this case goslings, but we got lucky with these little beauties.



These may already be looking a little sorry for themselves but I'm that person that keeps flowers till they start growing mould so I think these still have a lot charm.



After not finding too many ducks on the river round the city we headed down to Thorpe St Andrew on Sunday for a 100% duck guarantee. We were not disappointed, although we should have taken more food for them.



Look at his little teefs! So cute.
