A Round Up Of Recent Designs

Amongst other things I've been plodding away at uploading designs to my print to order shops. Here's some examples of the most recent ones (plus that streamer design that I've shared before because I just love it so much).

I list them all on both my Society6 and Redbubble shops and make them available on every item, unless the design doesn't fit the shape properly. As I add more of my drawings I'm getting a feel for what I need the designs to be to be able to add them to all items so it's getting easier for me and also more likely for you that it'll be available. So even though there's only one example of each design in this post, they're each available on the items the others are featured on (and lots more). If that makes sense lol.

I've now got two Christmas designs on there too, a gingerbread cutie and some bells. They'd be great on a mug or shirt or something as a festive gift but also for yourself if you wanted to have a seasonal phone case or scarf or whatever.
Pretty much all of the items available work well as a gift and we all know it's always a good thing to support independent makers, so please go check out my designs. Even if you don't buy them yourself, any shares would be very much welcome too. I appreciate all and any support I get from you lovely folk so much.

Times are pretty tough at the moment, I hope you're looking after yourself and that the weekend (and ever after) treats you well ^_^

Wandering in the Woods

Untitled

Our doctors surgery moved and to get there now the easiest way is to go through a patch of woodland we didn't know about. We're so bad, we've lived here years and there can still be things like this so close that we haven't found, it took us a little while but we eventually went for a wander round in there last week. We weren't up there long but it's really nice. Not so wild you can't get about but not so managed that it isn't interesting. Plus we can walk to it from home but once you're in there it's so quiet, you wouldn't know how close to roads and houses you were. There's lot's of mushrooms too so I was happy. Hopefully I'll go up there again before autumn is totally over, I love seeing areas like that change over the seasons.

This vlog has some woods footage in it if you want more.

Here's a photo of the wasp head I found in the video. It's so strange, what are the chances it would end up sitting so neatly on our garden table? It totally creeps me out but also it's very fluffy so I'm conflicted.

Fan Art Friday ~ Pinhead

Pinhead

What would we do without our favourite lead cenobite? (Torture children instead of the people manipulating the children probably.) Such a cutie. I have a bit of a crush on Pinhead. I reckon it's a man in a dress thing though rather than a torture thing. Plus, he has good morals for a cenobite.
We watched the first two Hellraiser films again this week. So gross, so good. The special effects in it are brilliant. When Frank starts growing again is just amazing.

I know the title says fan art friday and this wasn't posted here on friday but I don't care ♡ ( ̄З ̄)

I Am Enjoying InstaSnapLineStoryChat #4

You should totally skip over the ramble, I know future Becky will enjoy coming across it again at some point but it's just brain spew that doesn't go anywhere (o-_-o)

I've been thinking a lot lately about how we share ourselves online. Molly Soda has been mentioning it in regard to selfies lately and sharing some photos that maybe aren't what you would expect someone to share. That are supposedly more 'real', whatever that means. But even in those moments she points out that she's only sharing them to make you think she's approachable for example so surely they're just as thought out as the typical hot selfies. (Also she's an artist whose work is mainly her online profile, so are all of her posts heavily considered anyway?) There's a bit of a thing for sharing 'bad' photos of yourself but still only when you're clearly a conventionally pretty person or your make up is perfect but you're pulling a face. Being happy as a fat person is a 'movement' that's gaining momentum but within that there's a feeling that there is a way to be fat in a pretty way and if you have the wrong type of fat body you don't count. I always feel a bit like I shouldn't share selfies because my front camera is really low quality. Before I've even thought about my face I'm worrying that the best phone I can afford isn't good enough for me to be able to participate in the world. By using all the filters and stamps am I just covering up the fact that I don't like photos of myself or am I just having fun with things I think look cool? I love the idea of being able to just exist without all these standards but how do you share a photo of yourself or your surroundings without editing it to a certain degree anyway? You can't take a photo without thinking about it. And there's nothing wrong with editing stuff.

I don't know why I'm putting this here lol. I don't have any clear, articulate thoughts about any of it. Other than people should be able to happily exist without feeling like they are inadequate or not right. And however you are you should decide for yourself in each moment what you want to record and what you want to share without worrying about whether it's 'correct'. Be beautiful, be ugly. Only share your 'best' photos, share all of your photos. What does any of it mean anyway?

I'm trying to take more photos of myself because I like looking back at them. I don't spend much time per day on how I look and I have an old phone so when I take a photo of myself it never looks like the photos of someone who has a fancy front camera and is wearing really cool make up but that's ok. I need to get over it. I am existing as best I can and I'm going to be happy about it because otherwise what's the point.

I'll stop trying to be thoughtful now, here's some silly photos.

Art Journal Flip Through ~ October 2016

October sees the end of my first notebook. It held up so well, that was £1 seriously well spent! Half way through the month I moved into my new book, a David Shrigley one from Tiger that was still only two or three pound so we'll see if it holds up to it's predecessors standards lol. October was a pretty fatigue-y kind of month, I'm not sure if it shows in here but I feel like it does. I'm only mentioning it though as a reminder that even when I'm feeling totally bleurgh I can make things that I will want to look at again later. And making things always helps me feel at least a little less bleurgh.
