happy halloween

eat sweets, watch horror films, paint your face, dress up and just generally be spooky, it's the only day of the year you can do it with a valid excuse so make the most of it.
(i'm not suggesting you can't do it on other days, you just might get looked at funny)

shawn barber

i've seen adverts for his books in tattoo magazines but i've never looked him up properly.
i'm glad i finally did.

i'm demon speeding

this spider lived outside our front door for a while which also happens to be infront of my window. it tried to eat a leaf the other day that had got caught in its web. then it dropped it and i took this photo and then it ran away to hide in the gutter again. will has since moved it because i was scared it would make babies on our front door. and i was also scared it would fall on my head everytime i went in or out of the house. we went to london for the afternoon before will had to meet his sister and her friend and take them to see lostprophets (he hated it, he took them because he's lovely and they needed looking after) and went to the national gallery. trafalgar square had this screen set up as part of the london film festival, it's inflatable and amazing. the other day will went and got me cakes for breakfast (told you he was lovely) and he came back with halloween cakes! the orange one in the background had really thick icing and was so so tastey. the one at the front is a scary biscuit! actually what it's called in the shop. awesome. it was also really tastey.
he looked sad when will started pulling his legs off.
and slightly confused when he was left without any legs at all.

it was half term this week and 'micheal jackon's this is it' came out on wednesday which equals to lots of hours at work. i think my feet almost fell off last night after 3 days of massive shifts in a row. next week is even longer. i felt a bit dirty at work yesterday. we're selling t-shirts, posters and the cd to go with 'this is it'. and they had the cd on, quite loudly, in the screens and the foyer and the toilets. seriously 7 hours of it on repeat drove me insane. i don't like people trying to make money out of someones death. if he hadn't died it would have just been extras on a live dvd. i understand people want to see it because the gigs didn't happen but there shouldn't be merchandise for it. all people are interested in is making money, however they get it. nevermind.
there was a good point to work yesterday though, while i was wiping round the sinks in the toilets a lady patted me on the shoulder and said "you're doing a really good job." bless her. i must have looked really fed up for her to feel the need to be nice to me. contrasted with the lady that got angry at me because there weren't any booster seats left she was like a saint.
the booster seat lady was annoying. i'd already had to say to so many other people that i was sorry but they were all being used at the moment and she was the only person that didn't just say oh well and walk off. she actually told me to find her one. what am i meant to do? steal one from a small child?
not looking forward to a massive week at work. but at least it'll be more money.
also i'm annoyed that the only 2 days i have off next week are the only 2 days will's working because the person that does his rota wanted those days off too. including halloween because he's going to see x factor. seriously. on halloween! idiot.

i seriously need a new job. or once i've set up my shop properly for it to be an instant massive success so i can just live off that. what? i can dream.

anyway, we went to tesco today and got 2 pumpkins. one for the table and one for the window. i bet nosey lady will love it.

we are excited about halloween (even if will does have to spend most of it at work)
by the way, that's rob zombie on the telly. perfect pumpkin carving viewing.

the pumpkins are looking really good if i do say so myself. but i'm not unveiling them to the world till saturday.

this is our lamp avec halloween decoration. i think you'll agree it looks brilliant.

i'm going to go see what food colours we have in preparation for spooky food on saturday.

bits

i made a fimo tentacle necklace. it's not going to stay on string, i was just testing how it hangs. thinking about it being a new addition to my shop and thinking about whether to paint it or leave it as it is.

this is the crumble i made with apples out of my nan and grandads garden. its the first crumble i've made and the topping was a bit hard rather than crumbly but it still tasted good. and i put loads of cinnamon in it hence the slightly brown colour and that tasted good too.

this tinsel is awesome

this is barry the wood pigeon on our front garden. he's great and has a lady friend called penelope.
i've joined a 'what i wore' group on flickr that doesn't allow photos so you have to draw yourself each day. i thought it was awesome so i joined it and have so far done 2 days. they aren't great but its all good practise. you should check out my flickr and have a look.

pretty baa-lambs

i did some drawings. the first one is copied from luis royo and the second one was from a photo in a magazine but not really.

i don't want to go work.

the end.

p.s. the title is actually a title of a pre-raphaelite painting. brilliant.

i love autumn

i did some art.
i'm thinking about getting some frames and doing some things like this and adding them to my shop?

i went for a walk and it was pretty.

that's pretty much all i have to say about today.

and that i wish the lady that lives in our block that has that know-it-all busy-body look to her would stop stopping on her way past to stare through our window. just because i have the curtains pulled back to let more light in doesn't mean staring into someones home isn't rude anymore.

more human than human

will and i went to see up yesterday and i loved it so so much. even though it made me cry.
a lot.
like proper streaming, wet neck cry.
but it also made me laugh a lot. pixar are awesome.
and then i had to go to work and when i got home will had made me an ellie badge out of a lid from a glass bottle of coke.
i love will.

i found this guy on the floor today. i thought it was funny, will just said he's meant to be on a horse. i disagree, if he was meant to be on a horse he would have something to attach him to the horse like toys do. and on the back it says 'Made for McD's' so i assume he came from a happy meal and those toys are really bad so i doubt there's a detachable horse somewhere, but i'm probably wrong.
he's got quite a pair of thighs...

(will has since come home and seen him again and laughed lots, earlier he saw him at work in my hand rather than standing proudly on the computer)

have you seen the new fame film, at the end there's that tribal dance and they do that sideways crab walk thing. that's what i reckon he's doing.
it's clearly part of a poor line of mcdonalds/fame toys.

(to clarify, i haven't gone to see fame, its just a 'perk' of the job that i see the end of all films a hundred times.)
this is what i'm spewing out of my art hole at the moment. i think it's going quite well personally. if it turns out good i might have it as a print for sale on my website?

urgh at work today we had the football match on. (which i disagree with, its a place for films not smelly football people) and someone came up to gsp, where lucky ol' me was standing checking tickets, with his food from mcdonalds actually on the tray. i'm pretty sure they're not for taking. that's why they ask if your eating in or not and if you're not they put it in a bag for you so you can carry it easily.
anyway, i said, sorry you're not allowed to take the food into the screen, you'll have to eat it before you go in. so he starts scoffing his burger in the most attractive way i've ever seen someone eat something (thats probably a lie) and then says to his 'mate' 'what shall i do with this?' waving his stolen tray around and his 'mate' takes it off him and jams it sideways onto the gsp next to me and manky mcdonalds lettuce goes everywhere and he doesn't even care or apologise, just walks off as though mission accomplished.
so for reference, next time you steal a tray from mcdonalds and then realise you have no need for it just put it somewhere inappropriate for someone else to clear up. why should you care about it? you have more important things to worry about, like football and working on that dirty pub floor smell you carry around with you.

(to clarify, i don't think everyone that likes football steals trays from mcdonalds and smells like dirty pub but based on experience a certain amount do)

help a poor artist

i made a shop
look

go spend your money there.
i'm planning on having lots of other stuff up there too and once it's proved a huge success i'll upgrade my website account and be able to make it look pretty but for now i've already upgraded it once today so we'll see how it goes.
hope you like it.

while i was saying goodbye to will earlier the spider that has decided to live over our front door ate a fly. it was scary.
this picture was taken after he had eaten it.
i think we'll need to name him.
although it was quite an efficient yet vicious attack so maybe he's a her.
i wish i wasn't so freaked out by spiders because i find them fascinating but don't really want to look at them.

we got the bike back today along with the thing that punctured it.
2 inches long and blunt.
how on earth did it get in the tyre?!?!?!
it's typical something quite so unfathomable would happen to us.
nevermind.

i'm going to watch some more amanda palmer party on the internet videos that i missed and then watch true blood, quite excited about it after all the hype.

"never go full retard"

we've been cinema-ing it up recently. saw dorian gray and the soloist on monday and on tuesday we went to see moon. dorian gray was good, haven't finished reading the book so i can't compare but i liked it. don't go if you don't like naked rudeness. apparently a guy went to see it with his 15 year old daughter and wanted his money back because it was embarrassing. idiot. did he know what it was about before he left the house? look things up if you're going to be offended by things.
the soloist was quite eye opening. 90,000 homeless people in greater L.A. i really don't like jamie foxx but i can't deny him his acting skills. and i love robert downey jr. and they were both really good.
moon was immense. oh my god. i think will's actually in love with it. it made me cry. because a clone was dying! that's how good it is. you care about clones. i can't actually describe how good it was, partly because i'm not good with words but mostly because it was so awesome. see it. sam rockwell is brilliant and kevin spacey as gerty with his little emoticon screen, aw! i want to see it again!

on wednesday will was at work so i played with make up. like ya do. now i realise to most people it doesn't look like much but i normally wear none. if i'm feeling fancy i'll put on some eyeliner. i went all out and did the foundation, eyeliner, mascara and lipstick. i don't think it went too badly. but oh my god, cleaning it off after is a pain. don't understand how people bother every day.
lazy.

and today i hate the council, had a bit of a crisis (stop sniggering will, top gear has ruined that word for me) and cleaned the house. will's at work again but should be home soon and he's bringing tom with him. be nice to see him, haven't since uni. haven't really seen anyone. saw marc before moon, some odd coinsidence he was there to see it too with some of his friends.

also the bike has a chunk of metal in the back tyre. yeah, thanks shitty careless people who don't bother to pay any attention to nails, tacks and the such like. how about clearing up after yourself
once in a while. 3rd time since we've been at uni now. here's hoping it's not too bad and we can scrape the money together to get it sorted. please be nice bike fixer people. (can you sense that when it comes to anything bike related i don't actually know what i'm talking about? i think it must be moments like this at my most 'girly')

woohoo, will and tom are on their way here and are bringing indian food.
awesome.
