An Adventure to Norfolk

It was Will's Grandad's 60th birthday on Sunday and so we went to Norfolk for the weekend.
On the Saturday we got our trains to Norwich and there was a massive dinner with about 36 people which was really good. I didn't know who most of them were but it went quite well considering I'm socially inept around people I don't know. I even spoke to someone about wildlife photography and printers, imagine that.
When we got back to his Nan and Grandad's house I ended up with 2, yes 2, 35mm SLR cameras!! One donated from Will's Nan (a Praktica MTL5B) and one from his Uncle (a Minolta Dynax 500si). Both were going to be thrown away/given to a charity shop. I'm amazed by them. Gloria even gave me a roll of film so all I need is to find the right battery. I'm so excited to try them out.
Then on Sunday there was a massive BBQ and then we came home in the evening.
I only took 3 photos which is shameful but nevermind.

Before the BBQ Will took me and Holly (his Mum's dog) for a walk round the site (they live/work on a chicken farm).
That is when I took my 3 photos.

(This is Holly, she's lovely and every now and then she runs like a crazy. It's awesome.)

This is at the bottom of their land. It was a bit dry on Sunday but there were Coots living on it anyway.
I'm always amazed and jealous by how much space they have.

Sleepy Grack

Not the best photo but...

Grack makes me laugh. He isn't even trying to squeeze past the rock, he is asleep. Sideways. And squished up against the glass.
He's a genius.

A Collection of Bird Cages

This is what I did yesterday.
A collection of bird cages.
I'm going to get some prints done of this, I think it'd look nice framed.

Victoria and Albert with added Natural History

These photos are backwards in order of what we did but it would take far too much time to sort that out.

We went to London to see the Quilts exhibition at the V&A which I loved. It was really inspiring and I'd definately go again if I had the money. Will bought me a poster from the gift shop, I'm going to hang it next to my desk.

Then we went in the National History Museum to see the dinosaurs and decided we actually needed to have a proper look so we went and had lunch and then came back to it.
The dinosaur skeletons are amazing! And the animatronic T-rex was actually a bit scary once you were in front of it. It was like it was about to run at you. We went and found the Blue Whale which I don't believe is real. You just can't comprehend something that big swimming around. Insane.
Then we went and found some elephants on the way home.

That giraffe would fit in that whale and that's not even the blue whale skeleton!

Scary T.Rex

Noodles make Will happy.

The V&A has good floors...

...and good statues...

...and good tea.

Overall it was a really good day.

bird cages and asparagus

I'm thinking about doing some sort of bird cage/perch type collection illustration thing.
As you can see, it's not actually an idea yet but I'm loving fancy looking bird cages at the moment and drawing them is fun.

I said to Will, 'do you know how asparagus grows?' and drew a little picture (even though he knew anyway) and it turns out I really quite liked it. Might do it again on nice paper.

I think I have a cold rather than (or aswell as) hayfever which is going to make my shift today all the more rubbish but it's the only big shift I have this week so yay!

Also, this morning I keep hitting my elbow on things. Ouch.

Haven't decided on an actual definate day yet but my Etsy will be up and running by the end of the week.
I'll announce it here and on my twitter so keep your eyes peeled :)

Finished Postcards

My set of postcards is finished!
They will be available in my Etsy once I get it up and running.
The speech bubble is left blank for you to add your own message and I think I'm going to give the option of me stamping a message on for you (like the strip around the pack in the first picture) before I send them off.
You get 3 postcards, one of each of the designs along with 3 envelopes just in case you want to give them that extra protection for their journey.
Or you could just keep them for yourself.

I hope people like them, I'm proud of them!

Went out with mum yesterday.
It was lovely.

My sets of postcards are almost ready for the shop. I think they're looking pretty good.
I'll take some photos later and show them off.
