my library card arrived this morning and annoyingly my name is spelt wrong on it. that's only ever acceptable if they write down your name after hearing you say it, but even then i think people should check. but i applied online and they therefore had it written down infront of them and yet they still decide to spell it how they think it should be spelt rather than actually looking at how I spell MY name.
i'm annoyed at all the people whose last name is garrett and have caused me this issue repeatedly my whole life and will, i presume, continue to do so.

will and i went to see Inglorious Basterds the other day. it was so good. tarantino has proved his genius once again, the characters were awesome, the setting was brilliant, the fact that it was done in the languages they should have been speaking made it all the better and it really makes me want strudel. one of my favourite bits is when shoshana's face is projected on the smoke and she's laughing manically, looks amazing. it's just plain awesome you should go see it. we're going again soon.

today we went to welwyn for a bit of a wander. i wanted the new Dazed and Confused and will was looking at games. i was meant to take my cowboy boots to find out how much it would cost to fix them but i totally forgot so that'll have to wait till next week seeing as they're closed on sundays. rubbish
we went into the bookshop and i came across 'the book of lost things' by john connolly. i liked the cover and the title so i had a look, thought it sounded good and after reading the first page, like any sensible book purchaser would, i decided to spend some of my well saved birthday money on it and am now looking forward to reading it.
we also discovered that whsmiths now do a pick n mix with priced cups rather than weights. i was very good and didn't fill a large cup with strawberry bon bons even though they were looking at me and calling out to be scoffed. i'm proud of me.
the down side of our trip was a lack of starbucks but a mistake was made that means we're going back tomorrow so that's going to be sorted out good and proper.

after looking at all the books in the shop i have decided to join the library so i don't end up spending a fortune. applied online just now and my membership card is apparently on it's way to me in the post.
it seemed a bit too easy.

i'm going to leave you with a thought/tip. if you are a parent with a child in a public place and they're screaming at you to watch whatever stupid trick they're going to do but you don't give a crap and are more interested in talking to your friend you've bumped into, do the world a favour and just look in their direction so they at least think you care. screams of MUM LOOK AT ME MUM YOU DIDN'T EVEN SEE IT ALL MUM WATCH WHAT I CAN DO are not pleasant for the rest of the world even if you have learnt to tune it out. it's a child, you've already dragged it out shopping when it's one of the last things it'd want to be doing, the least you can do is show it some attention so the rest of us don't have to hear it whine.

silk screening ahoy!

i finally used the silk screening stuff i got on my birthday. i'm in love with it. even if i do have to scrub the bath out everytime i clean it. now i need to work on some bigger stencils for the bags i got to print on.

and here is another copy from a tank girl by jamie hewlett. i really need to do something out of my head rather than someone elses but at least it's better than not drawing at all which i did for a while...

i also took some rather nice photos today while sitting on the patio with a headache. check my flickr for a look.

mike came down for the weekend but he's gone now and took his huge telly back with him which i feel isn't really fair. we went to stanborough park and i took some photo's while the boys went in the stream but i took some of my photos on will's camera and will's not here so you'll have to wait for that.

this one is copied from jamie hewlett but the bottom 2 i did at work so they technically came out of my head. but the purple one is really just an out of my head version of the copied tank girl at the top.

this one i'm especially proud of just because i did it standing up with nothing to lean on in the almost dark waiting for screens to come out or go in.

i went for a walk today. ain't it pretty? yes, yes it is.
i also made a banana bread and some banana bread fairy cakes, seeing as i had loads of brown bananas but only one loaf tin. they smell really good. deciding whether to ice the cakes or not...

£5 steak, chips and peas from the red lion = good dinner first time i've ever made a chocolate sponge and had to guess at how much cocoa powder to put in but it turned out good. and the icing had jack daniels in it.

the first sewing ever on my machine that i got for my birthday from mum and dad. i love it, it's red.

the second thing i did on my machine, i made a pocket. then i sewed 'will' onto it. he was well chuffed.

for my birthday will and i went to london to the V&A because i have never been but it seems like the sort of place i would like. and i did like it. we didn't see half of what's there because we only spent the morning there and then went to camden in the afternoon but i'm definately going back soon for the whole day and with my slr. most of the pictures i took were either shaky or the cases are far too shiny but i got a few that i really liked. i'm going to put up the better ones on my flickr so you can go there if you want to see them bigger.

loved these stairs, it's where the next 3 pictures came from too.

overall, i had an awesome day. didn't take any photos in camden because i was starting to get a bit dehydrated but the stables are looking awesome. i can't wait till they all have sellers in and it's finished properly.
