Crochet ~ Amigurumi Fruit and Veg
If around May or June you read any 'ermahgerd much werk bleurgh' type comments from me on twitter and the like that's because I was making all these cuties (and I'm whingey). And they now have their very own fancy, free booklet on the front of Simply Crochet 35!
Let me know if you make any of them use @vongarratt and/or #beckygarratt on social medias ^_^

Embroidery ~ Halloween Patches
I made some new patches. They're Halloween themed, in case you can't tell. I love Halloween and anything a bit spooky so I'm definitely going to have to pick one of these and make one for myself. I also made some more 'don't tell me to smile' patches because they seem to have hit a chord and are selling quite well. I was really chuffed to get a custom colour request for one of these for someone with autism. I made them thinking of ladies dealing with creeps but all sorts of people must get inappropriately told to smile. These patches are for all the non smilers (and smilers that get it). Everyone else should just mind their own business.
Here's a link to the patches section in my Etsy shop.

Illustration ~ Frida Kahlo
"Painting completed my life. I lost three children and a series of other things that would have fulfilled my horrible life. My painting took the place of all this. I think work is best." - Frida Kahlo
I'm not going to make a rubbish attempt at putting Frida into words, we all love her and we all know she's amazing.
Here are some work in progress shots I took while I was painting. I painted this just because I wanted to but now I'm thinking it might make some nice prints or cards.

226 - 232 // 365 2015
Day 226 - I found a dead dragonfly! There have been loads of them flying around here lately and Will was saying how he really wanted one and it was weird you never see them dead seeing as there are so many and on my way out one morning I found one, right across the road from us. They're so pretty up close.
Day 227 - This is pretty much all I see of Alex Kidd. I am bad at video games. I love them though.
Day 228 - Breakfasting outside.
Day 229 - Sunset.
Day 230 - Watermelon lassi (or something similar to lassi who knows. It was good anyway).
Day 231 - City being fluffy.
Day 232 - Working on some new patches.

Sketchbook ~ 20.08.15
I was pretty heat crazed but I wasn't tucking my tshirt into my bag strap while on the road, that's just silly.
I got rather obsessed with Neko Atsume, I've neglected it lately though so I actually get some work done rather than just checking for new cats.
I miss there being birthday cake in the house.

219 - 225 // 365 2015
Day 219 - Messy desk working on a commission for christmas decorations.
Day 220 - He's should be a model.
Day 221 - We took a walk out to the meadow, realised it was a lot hotter than we thought, came back, ate ice cream instead.
Day 222 - I won an Ocarina of Time cart on ebay after lots of trying and had to make myself a Navi. I'll be sharing the pattern in zine form before too long and I'll pop it on here too.
Day 223 - I always keep flowers for too long.
Day 224 - I've been too busy to take interesting photos but there's always Bernard to pester.
Day 225 - I was quite taken with this guy.

What My Phone Saw ~ July
It was hot enough to wear my tiny shorts and I felt equal amounts panicked and liberated at having so much skin out and about // So demure
I got this snail out of Bernard's hutch and saw it had a broken shell and was googling to see if it could fix itself and Bernard stomped on it. I think it was fine though... // We completed Ibb and Obb!! It's so difficult and beautiful. Thank god for walkthroughs on youtube. Although in this case sometimes all you learn from them is that you have figured it out you just haven't managed it yet.
Always smudgy // Pre-inks is creepy.
I tried to go summer clothes shopping and got a new jumper. It's always autumn in my mind // End of day feelings
Working on a courtesan order // I cut my fringe fancy in a crazed headache frenzy. Don't let the face deceive you, it's the first time I've ever cut my fringe and not questioned it in the morning. The face is the headache/flash mix.

Birthday! ~ Drawing and Instax
Rainbow instax film is the best thing ever. The first pic is feet at the pick your own farm. The others are from my actual birthday which was basically a day of games. Will got me a PS3 disk that has a load of Mega Drive games on so we played that and then we went to the arcade for Pac-Man air hockey and pool (and a lame attempt at getting a dinosaur out of the 2p machines). I hadn't played pool in years. I really like pool. We were comically bad. The kind of comically bad where it was lucky we were alone because it would have stopped being funny for other people. We got our monies worth. Then we sat by the river and ate Ben and Jerry's and then headed home for more snacks and video games.
Once we were back home I got comfy and stood in the kitchen scraping leftover icing out of the bowl with pretzels. I know how to birthday.
